Time written: 10:00 pm.

Today was the first day of our project. I arrived on campus at 9:00 am, and got to work immediately. I proposed my idea about a Proctor Record book that we could create, and wrote down some of the ideas for records. Then, I searched for record breakers that Noah and I would like to interview. Our main focus is a man named Ashrita Furman, who has broken the most world records (over 600). Tomorrow, I will email more people about possible interviews.
After assembly, Noah and I did some speed eating training to prepare for the fastest time to eat an entire apple. First, we made several attempts to fill our mouths with water and get it all down with one swallow. Ideally, we’d be able to drink a dining hall glass in two gulps. Afterwards, we made our initial attempts to to break the apple eating record. Both of us had similar times, at around one minute, ten seconds. The bites we took were too big, making the apple too difficult to chew. We are confident we can get our technique down, and we will tempt this every day until we break the 38 second barrier.
